Underpricing and Overpricing the same item.

If you don't know the value of an item under price it and then overprice it.

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/527022595639040/?ref=messenger_share

This item was listed on Facebook Marketplace for $50. which would be a good price. Then it jumped to $1000. which is a stretch for a non dealer in formica tables. Why who knows ?

But before you sell anything research similar items for sale. An item is only worth what someone will currently pay for it .

Why Are Some Hoosiers Worth More Than Others ?

Why the big difference in prices on hoosier cabinets ? I recently saw someone using a picture of one of my restored hoosier cabinets that was very complete to try to sell a much lesser quality cabinet in need of repair. The misleading ad featured a picture of my cabinet with the retail price and then some pictures of the cabinet they had for sale. They did not have permission to use my picture and it could make people think they were buying it.

Some cabinets were better quality to begin with and had a lot more features and better construction. Also it depends on the skill and resources of the restorer. Plus added parts like original glassware, the knowledge of what is right for the particular cabinet, the ability to ship and the reputation of the seller for honesty and value.

After writing to the seller they removed the picture.

 Reproducing a Boone Light Kit

Often times a part like this is missing ,damaged or no longer usable.I was able to copy the wood piece off an original one and then fabricate the electrical parts and topping it off with a vintage lamp shade and made a usable facsimile of a real one.
